Asbestos Register/ Audit Information

I am writing in regards to a new asbestos register that is now located at our reception.

In line with Catholic Education Western Australia compliance requirements, St Dominic’s previously engaged a contractor to undertake an asbestos audit.

The audit confirmed that there are some Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM’s) present in our school facilities, as is common place in many buildings constructed prior to 2003.  The areas identified have been rated at a low risk level and safe in their current encapsulated state.  To continue to meet our compliance requirements, these areas are inspected regularly and a resurvey and inspection of the entire school site will be carried out again by a licensed contractor in 2020.

A register has been created for all known ACMs in our buildings to assist with their safe removal over time, and to ensure they are not disturbed by maintenance work.

As a result, you may see a new notification sticker located in reception.  This sticker will ensure any trades/ maintenance staff/ contractors are aware of our ACM register before working onsite.

Please be assured that the safety and wellbeing of all students is our highest priority and we will continue to ensure our facilities meet all safety standards.

If you have any queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
