Maker Space Moving to the Library

posted May 24, 2017, 11:02 PM by Principal account

We have made the exciting decision to move our MakerSpace area from the Computer Lab to the Library.

What is a MakerSpace?  A MakerSpace is a place in which people with shared interests, especially in computing or technology, gather to work on projects while sharing ideas, equipment, and knowledge.

Our MakerSpace will be available for children to use during some lunchtimes and for teachers to use with their class.  This is an addition to our Library space, with the current resources still remaining and the normal functions of the Library continuing.

To help reorganise our Library to include the MakerSpace, we are seeking some assistance from volunteers.  On Friday 2nd June we would appreciate some help with moving a small section of books and shelving to make room to put our MakerSpace resources.  If you would be able to spare an hour straight after school drop off on this day please let Jemma know via email jemma.davis@cewa.edu.au.  Stay tuned for more information regarding our MakerSpace development and the continued introduction of our new Technologies Learning Area.

Many thanks in advance.
