On Friday 15th of September, the Mini Vinnies team went on an excursion to the Wheelchairs for Kids shed, in Wangara. Did you know that there are 180 volunteers that help to run this wonderful charity? They all take it in turns each day to offer their time to assist in the building of the wheelchairs, except on Thursdays and weekends, which are their rest days.

We were shown around the shed by David, Beppy and Brian, some of the volunteers. Some of the things we saw include: parts of the wheelchairs being made, the donations of blankets and toys to go with the wheelchairs, the different tools and machines that they use and a graph of where all of the wheelchairs go to around the world.

We all enjoyed this educational experience, and we were all inspired! It was great to see where all of the money that we had raised in Term Two at St. Dominic’s was going and we hope that in the future, we can continue to support this amazing charity.
