Principal's Message

posted Aug 4, 2017, 11:38 PM by Principal account
Dear Parents/ Caregivers,

It has been a very busy week and although it has been fantastic to listen to several international speakers and hear about the new initiatives coming out of the CEWA office, I am truly looking forward to being back at school on Monday.

Next week is a special one for our school as we will be celebrating the Feast Day of St Dominic.  There are more details below, which I encourage you to read through; however, in brief, we will have a whole school and community mass on Tuesday 8th August and a school excursion to The Beach House on Friday 11th August.  You are most welcome to join us on both of these occasions.

Please also take note below of the two pupil free days that are coming up later this term.

Principal Review in Week 9

The Catholic Education Commission of Western Australia has endorsed a process of performance review for Principals. I am one of a number of Principals in Catholic schools to be reviewed this year.

This Principal Review Process relates only to the Principal’s Duties and Responsibilities (as enunciated in the Principal’s Contract of Employment) and is not a School Review or Evaluation.

The aims of the Principal Review Process are:
  • Accountability to the Employer
  • Renewal of Contract and
  • Professional Development
The process will involve the following members of the school community: Selected Staff; the School Board; the Parents & Friends Executive; and the Parish Priest.

This review will be conducted by means of written evaluation, followed by interviews with a review panel which will take place during Week 9 of this term.

I welcome the review as an important learning opportunity for my ongoing professional growth and development, and wish to thank all those involved as participants in my review.

Have wonderful week.

God bless,

Leon Bolding
