St Dominic's School Choir Hits the Road

We are approaching the season of Advent, which is a focus in the Religious Education Guidelines. This unit explores ways in which the children can develop their gifts and abilities as they try and live out Jesus’ Commandment to love and help others. A practical way to explore this understanding is to go out into the community, so two excursions have been organised for the children in the school choir. We will visit the residents of the Birralee Aged Care Home and the Bethanie Home in the last two weeks of term. During our time, the children will perform Christmas Carols and interact with the men and women who reside there. The residents always look forward to our visit each year. (So do we!) As we prepare for Christmas, it is easy to get caught up in the hype and ‘materialism’ of the season. Selfless service is a fundamental Gospel value, therefore, participating in these excursions, provides another opportunity for the students at St Dom’s to think of others and hopefully come away with lifted spirits!

Members of the choir received a note last Friday and need to return the permission slip this week. The dates of these excursions can be found on the school calendar.
