Following my communication last term regarding Miss Jacky Lisi’s breast cancer diagnosis, I am writing to inform you that Jacky will be moving to a part time role (Monday and Tuesday) in Term 3. After further tests and specialist appointments, Jacky commenced chemotherapy over the school holidays. The shift to a part time role in Term 3 will enable Jacky to receive the treatment she requires as well as provide time to recover between sessions. Jacky is totally committed to the Year 4 students and this arrangement will ensure she stays connected and part of their learning throughout Semester 2.
I am pleased to announce that we have been able to appoint Mr Justin Fiume to the Year 4 Wednesday, Thursday and Friday teaching role. Justin has been a regular relief teacher for us throughout 2020 and has worked with the Year 4 class on several occasions. Justin can’t wait to join our school community and begin working closely with Jacky, the students and our families.
Justin has already been in communication with Jacky this week and will be spending additional planning time with her early next week. Both Jacky and Justin will be conducting the parent/ teacher meetings on Friday, which will provide a wonderful opportunity for the Year 4 families to meet Justin and get to know him better. I know that as a school community you will make Justin feel welcome.
