Get to know Mrs Scott – Term 2 Final Year Practicum Teacher in Year 6

My name is Mrs Scott and I will be supporting Mr Bovell as an assistant teacher in your child’s classroom in Term 2.  I am currently finishing my last year of my Bachelor of Primary Education, specialising in Physical Education and Health.  I have been spending some time in first term getting to know your child’s academic skills, building relationships, anGet to know Mrs Scott - Term 2 Final Year Practicum Teacher in Year 6d learning about the routines within St Dominic’s school setting.

For Term 2 I will be spending 8 weeks of the term observing, learning, and teaching alongside Mr Bovell.  I look forward to spending time creating supportive, trusting relationships with your children and assisting them in reaching their goals.  Over the 8-week period I will increase the time spent teaching and learning with your children.  I have many fun and stimulating learning experiences for your children to encourage learning in purposeful ways.  I believe that students experiences should also broaden students’ creative thinking by extending the range of contexts in which they can function and learn as individuals.

I grew up on a little Island called Tasmania and completed my entire schooling years at Launceston Church Grammar school where I was introduced to the religious belief system and values. I then worked and travelled within the superyacht industry for over 10 years discovering many different cultures, languages and making many memorable experiences from countries around the world. Returning to Perth and its welcoming community to have a family of my own.

Together with Mr Bovell, I will endeavour to keep communications open with all parents and carers, and share the developments in your child progress over the term, especially through these social distancing times.

If you have any questions or concerns or just want to say hello, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards,

Kate Scott
