NAIDOC Week Celebrations at St Dominic’s School (8 – 15 November)

NAIDOC Week 2020 acknowledges and celebrates that our nation’s story didn’t begin with documented European contact and the arrival of the Dutch on the western coast of the Cape York Peninsula.  The very first footprints on this continent were those belonging to First Nations peoples.  Here at St Dominic’s we celebrate that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were Australia’s first explorers, first navigators, first engineers, first farmers, first botanists, first scientists, first diplomats, first astronomers and first artists!

In recognition of NAIDOC week, in addition to activities held earlier in the year, we are excited to welcome Dr Clive Walley to our school.  On Monday afternoon in the school hall, Clive will be speaking to our Year 1 to 6 students about connection to country.
