Student iPads in 2024

We want to inform you of an important change to our iPad program at school beginning in 2024.

We have witnessed the benefits of technology-enhanced learning in our classrooms and are committed to providing a high-quality digital learning environment. In reviewing our current iPad model, the decision has be made to introduce a 1:1 iPad program for all students from Year 1-6, commencing in 2024.  These iPads will be school-owned devices.  Kindy and Pre Primary will continue to have a bank of shared devices for use at appropriate times.

Starting in 2024, there will be the following modifications to the Year 5 and 6 BYOD program:

Year 5 Students:

  • Beginning in 2024, Year 5 students will no longer be required to bring their own iPad to school.
  • The school will provide iPads for student use, ensuring a consistent learning experience for all students. iPads will be 1:1 and will remain at school as part of their learning program.

Year 6 Students:

  • Year 6 students in 2024 will continue to use their own devices.
  • For these students, we want to assure you that our device management system (Jamf) will continue to be in place, ensuring a secure and controlled environment for learning.

We understand that this change may raise questions, and we are committed to providing you with all the necessary information and support to make this transition as smooth as possible. More detailed information regarding this change will follow in Term 4.

We firmly believe that this adjustment will contribute to a more equitable and consistent learning experience for our students. It will also help to streamline the program’s management while ensuring the safety and security of our digital learning environment.

If you have immediate questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us. We value your continued partnership and support as we strive to provide the best and most equitable education possible for our students.
