Year 6 Australian Red Cross Incursion

Today the Year 6 students were visited by members of the Australian Red Cross.  Julie and Pat delivered an interactive program designed to dispel the myths and misunderstandings about why people seek asylum.  This tied in nicely with our learning on human migration in HASS and above all else, educated the kids on just how lucky they are to live in such a safe place, with clean water, free elections, with their families and that they don’t have to fight for their human rights.  To conclude the session, Banashay, a very classy lady from Iran, visited to share her experiences as a real-life refugee in the 1980s.

Below are some photos from their visit to Year 6.
