St Dominic’s Faction Fun Run Wrap-up

Congratulations St Dominic’s!

Last Friday, we held St Dominic’s Faction Fun Run and what a great job by all students!  Considering there weren’t many opportunities to practice bar the at home training program, I was super impressed with the effort from the students.  I can’t fault the effort of our students and I know that they all gave their very best.  As a teacher, giving maximum effort is all I can ask for, so thank you, students.

Students in Year 1, and 2 ran an approximately 500m course, Year 3s (1km), Year 4s (1.25km), our Year 5s (1.75km) and our 6s ran approximately 2km.  These distances are aligned to what is run at the Interschool Carnival, which has been postponed due to COVID-19 until Term 4.

Thanks to all the St Dominc’s teachers for not only helping at the fun run, but for also being so flexible and letting me mess up their timetable for a day – I very much appreciate it.  It was also wonderful to see so many keen spectators encouraging and supporting the kids – thanks to you too for making time to come down.  Additionally, thank you to the parents who put their hands up to help on the day.  Your assistance doesn’t go unnoticed.  Thank you.

Congratulations to the following students on their places on the day.  The following students in Year 3 to 6 will represent St Dominic’s at the Interschool Carnival in Term 4.  Please note that due to a shortage of girls in Year 3, I may have to call upon Year 2 girls to run in the Interschool X Country.

With the Interschool Carnival not being run until Term 4, we will look to schedule some training sessions in at the beginning of Term 4.  I will keep you posted on dates and times.  If you have any feedback about the X Country carnival and any improvements we could make, please e-mail me at alex.paljetak@cewa.edu.au. Any feedback is always taken on board and greatly appreciated.
