Students in Year Two have been enjoying weekly lunch time sessions with me throughout Term 2. Â Through fun games, stories and activities they have been able to identify, label and talk about a range of feelings and emotions as well as strategies to regulate big feelings. Â Also a big thank you to our three Year 5 and Year 6 group facilitator assistants!
The theme of the group was based on the popular story book ‘The Colour Monster’ by Anna Llenas. Â One day the Colour Monster wakes up feeling very confused, his emotions are all mixed up and he feels angry, happy, calm, sad and scared all at once. Â The story explores these feelings and helps the Colour Monster name each of his emotions. Â This is a great book to read at home to help children identify how they are feeling as well as recognise the feelings of others.
