Grandparents’ Morning – Tuesday 7th November

To celebrate Grandparents’ Day, we would like to extend an invitation to all grandparents and special friends to join us for a morning at the school on Tuesday, 7th November. We recognise the importance of this wonderful group of people in our children’s lives, and wish to extend our thanks to them by welcoming them to the school and in particular, to their grandchild’s classroom.

We will begin by celebrating a prayer service commencing at 9:00am in the church and would love to have our grandparents join us for this (students from Pre-Primary to Year 6 will be attending the prayer service).  Grandparents will then be welcome to visit their grandchild’s classroom and join them in activities from 10:00-10:40am. We ask that children remain in their own classes and do not move to siblings’ classrooms, and that those with more than one grandchild at the school share their time between classes.

We then invite grandparents to join their grandchildren for recess from 10:40-11:00am.  Tea, coffee and cakes will be available for grandparents at no cost, kindly provided by our P&F.  Students should bring their usual recess on this day.  If grandparents wish to share a special treat with their grandchildren, they are welcome to bring a treat from home.  We are allergy aware and ask that you are mindful not to bring food containing nuts.

Grandparents of children in Kindy and Pre-Primary are welcome to take their grandchild out to join older siblings for recess, but we ask that they remain with those children and walk them back to their classroom teacher when recess finishes.

We do hope that many grandparents/ special friends can join us for this very special morning.
