Harmony Week

Harmony Day is approaching and forms one part of Harmony Week, which is running from Monday 16th March – Sunday 22nd March.

Harmony week is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background. It is a time to celebrate Australian multiculturalism.

To mark Harmony Day at St Dominic’s School, we would like all students to wear a touch of orange on Friday 20th March. Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Week. Traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversation. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect.

Students are encouraged to wear a touch of orange that day, to show their support for cultural diversity.

It could be a hair ribbon/scrunchie or a wrist band, an orange piece of clothing like a top or socks, anything suitable for school. There is no need to go out and buy an orange item.

We look forward to celebrating Harmony Week here at school.
