New Working with Children Check (WWCC) Volunteer Declaration Form

We are blessed here at St Dominic’s to have a supportive and generous parent body, who volunteer their time so generously to assist within our school.

There have been recent changes to Working with Children Check (WWCC) requirements for all schools in Western Australia, designed to continue to enhance the safety of children.

All parents who wish to volunteer in our schools (for example, parent help in classrooms or on excursions, helping at sports carnivals and assisting with P&F activities involving children), are now required to complete the online form linked below titled ‘Working with Children Check Volunteer Declaration’.  Moving forward this form will need to be completed before commencing any voluntary work with the school.

Some people may not need to provide a Working With Children Check because they fall under certain exemptions explained in the Working with Children (Screening) Act 2004 and the Working with Children (Screening) Regulations 2005.  Parent volunteers are one category that is exempt from requiring to provide a WWCC if they are volunteering at the school their child is enrolled.

A current Working with Children Check is required, however, by all other extended family members and friends over 18 years of age who want to volunteer.  We love having extended family members help and would be very happy to sign any Working with Children Check Form (available from authorised Australian Post outlets) for these family members who wish to be volunteers throughout the year.

Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.
