Pre-Primary and Year 2 Scitech Excursion Wrap Up

On Wednesday 24th September, Year Twos and Pre-Primaries ventured to Scitech for our excursion!

What a day we had exploring the world of science, starting off with a show in the planetarium where we learnt all about our sky, the plants, star constellations and a short movie informing us on intricate details about our planets. We were then able to explore the Scitech exhibits, where students had the opportunity to investigate hands-on displays, test out scientific ideas, and work together to solve problems. Their curiosity and excitement were evident as they moved through each interactive station.

Pre-Primaries watched a puppet show and enjoyed the curiosity show, where we explored photosynthesis and had fun talking about camping, making new connections to our learning in an engaging way, and practised being a respectful audience during the live performance.

Year Twos finished the day with an amazing science show, learning about different elements from the periodic table and watching how the colour of the flame changed as different metals burnt. They were fascinated to see flames glow bright greens, reds, and blues, and were amazed at how each metal created a unique effect. The show ended with a spectacular finale — the loud bang of a helium balloon being lit — which left the students buzzing with excitement!

A big thank you to our wonderful parent helpers who joined us on the day. Your support and enthusiasm made the experience extra special and helped everything run so smoothly. We couldn’t have done it without you!
