Welcome Back

We look forward to welcoming students back on Tuesday 22nd July, and we extend a warm welcome to new students and families who are joining us.  Term 3 is an exciting term with plenty happening, including St Dominic’s Day Feast Day celebrations, Book Week, Science Week, the Catholic Performing Arts Festival, the Faction Athletics Carnival, Book Fair and Open Night, just to name a few!  All information regarding these events will be shared via the eNewsletter, so be sure to take the time to read through the notices each week.

There has been work completed at the school over the holidays, including the removal of trees, repairs and maintenance to playgrounds and paving, and work in the gardens. Some of these projects will take a little longer than the holidays to complete and you may notice some spaces looking a little bare when you return. Be assured that plans are in place to have these areas looking their best again soon!

Welcome Sign

Our wonderful welcome sign at the Kiss and Ride entrance has sustained some ongoing damage due to weather conditions.  While some lettering has come loose and been repaired, it has become clear that a long-term fix is needed.  All of the loose parts of the sign have been removed for safety, and so that letters are not lost or broken.  Although it is not looking its best at the moment, we are working with the sign company on a more sustainable solution to ensure that our welcome sign can once again be a vibrant and welcoming entrance to our school.

Trees in Early Years

As mentioned in our previous newsletter, two trees were removed in our Early Years playground as their roots had already caused some damage to the playground and we were advised that they were not suitable for the space. These two trees will be replaced and we are working with our landscaper to source replacements which will be more suitable long-term solutions for the playground.

Front Entrance Garden

The garden bed at the entrance to our school has been in need of some work and in consultation with our landscaper, the shrubs have been removed to prepare the soil for new plants.  We will be working in consultation with our students to plan and design this space and look forward to seeing its development throughout Term 3.
