Last term, via an online survey, we asked our students to provide their thoughts about our current toilet facilities, explaining that their feedback would help to ensure the work done addressed their concerns. Using this feedback, we set about using their suggestions to address, in the first instance, some of their concerns. A copy of the survey that was used can be viewed via the link below.
The School Toilet Project – Preliminary Student Voice Survey
The majority of this planned refurbishment work was completed during our recent school holiday break. During the first week, the floor tiles were professionally cleaned by GroutPro and Mr Lofthouse scrubbed the dividing walls. In the second week, interior and exterior painting was completed free of charge by Kallaroo Painting Contractors. Kallaroo Painting Contrators is owned and operated by Mr Leo Ouwendyk, who is a grandparent at our school. After meeting with Leo last term to seek advice about the refurbishment work, Leo very kindly offered to donate the paint and labour for free. A real ‘Spirit of Jesus’ moment! I am extremely grateful to Leo and his team for this enormously generous donation to our school and encourage families to consider using his services if you are in need of a painting contractor in the future. The work completed has certainly transformed what was a very tired looking building into a more pleasant and inviting space for the students to visit during the day.
