Year 1 Excursion to Landsdale Farm

Year One students will be going on an excursion to Lansdale Farm on THURSDAY 12th March 2020.

This excursion ties in nicely with our writing topics of Little Red Hen and Recounts.  At Lansdale Farm, we will have the opportunity to meet the animals with the farmer, help feed them, learn their names and about their unique personalities. We will learn terminology for male, female and baby animals on the farm. We will take a ride around the farm in a tractor driven cart where we might stop by the hayshed or along the bunny cages and learn a bit more about how the farm operates. We will have a little tour of Settlers Cottage which is full of items that were previously very common and are currently a little rarer.  We will discuss how household chores have changed through the years.

We will travelling by bus to and from the farm.  The bus is scheduled to leave school at 8:45am and return to school by 1:00pm.

Lunch and Morning Tea

Lunch and morning tea needs to be provided in a labelled and disposable package i.e. a sandwich bag or a brown paper bag with your child’s name written clearly on it. Please also provide a plastic disposable water bottle with your child’s name written on it. All packaging will be disposed of at the farm.

Parent Helpers

We need 3 parent helpers for our excursion. If you are available to look after a group please complete the online form below. If you put your name down to look after a group please note you are responsible for the care of that group, therefore you won’t be able to bring siblings. We will notify you if you have been selected to look after a group.
