We are pleased to provide you with the following details regarding the Year 4/5 excursion to Scitech on 22nd of August 2025. This excursion has been planned to supplement the following work being completed in your child’s classroom:
Year 4
· Earth’s surface changes over time as a result of natural processes and human activity (ACSSU075)
· Forces can be exerted by one object on another through direct contact or from a distance (ACSSU076)
Year 5
· Solids, liquids and gases have different observable properties and behave in different ways (ACSSU077)
· The Earth is part of a system of planets orbiting around a star (the sun) (ACSSU078)
The class will depart from St Dominic’s School to walk to Stirling Train Station at 8:40am and return to Stirling Train Station at 2:15pm and walk back to school.
Students are to be picked up as per normal from St Dominic’s School at 3pm.
Travel will be by public trains.
Activities to be undertaken include:
· General Exhibition Area: Free Time
· Science Theatre Show: It’s Elementary
· Planetarium Show: The Great Solar System Adventure
Special clothing or other requirements include:
· Grey Sports Uniform
· Hat
· Students are to travel with their school backpack or school duffel bag with water bottle, recess and lunch inside.
3 parent helpers are required to assist on the day. If you are available and would like to help, please complete the Microsoft Form linked below.
