Year 5 and 6 Interschool Cricket/ Tennis Carnival Wrap up

Finally, students at St Dominic’s were able to participate in the Interschool Cricket/ Tennis Carnival.  This was cancelled twice last year, firstly due to Covid and then poor weather.

Students in Year 5 and 6 played in many fixtures throughout the day, smashing points, taking wickets and hitting sixes. The aim of the day is all about participation in Cricket and Tennis.  All students got fantastic opportunities to simply have a go at their chosen sport on the day.  Some notable highlights included:

  • The Year 6 boys winning their the boys division
  • The Year 5 mixed team winning the girls/mixed division
  • The Boys Tennis team, consisting of James Dyer, Mason Brennan and Martin Segnini taking out the Tennis Grand final

A big thank you must go to Mrs Willesee, Mrs Goh, Mrs Dyer, Mrs Vajda, Mrs Corke and Mrs Whitman, for helping out with the Cricket and Tennis teams on the day.  Without your help and support, we can’t run days like this.  Thank you!  I would also like to congratulate all of our students.  You all competed your hardest and with a smile on your face.  The sportsmanship on display was fantastic.

Please find attached some photos of our students on the day.
