Year 5 and Year 6 Raise Your Voice Competition Details

Every year, St Dominic’s School and St John’s Primary School, Scarborough, come together during Term 4 to compete in the ‘Raise Your Voice’ competition.  The competition provides students with an opportunity to express their views confidently, using appropriate speaking skills.  It also encourages students to research and compose a speech that shows a depth of understanding of the topic.

This year, Our Lady of Good Counsel are joining the competition, which means that 2 students per year level will be selected instead of the usual 3.

The Year 5 and Year 6 students will be attending the competition to support the students who have been selected to represent our school.  This year, the competition is taking place at St John’s Primary School.

Details of the competition are as follows:

Date:  Monday, 15th November

Time:  9:30am-11:30am

Venue:  St John’s Primary School, Scarborough

Transport:  Bus to and from the venue

Students to bring:  Hat, drink bottle, recess, any medication that students carry themselves

Uniform:  As students are representing the school, all students are asked to wear their normal summer uniform.

Parents of students who are speaking only are most welcome to come to St John’s on the day to watch their child in action.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with your child’s classroom teacher or myself.

Thank you.
