2022 Year 6 End of Year Events

As we draw closer to the end of the 2022 school year, there are several events planned to celebrate our Year 6’s time here at St Dominic’s.  Although it will be sad to see them leave us in a few weeks, we are looking forward to celebrating the many wonderful memories of their time here at St Dominic’s.

Below is an outline of the celebrations planned.

Tuesday 6th December

  • Whole school outing (details to be shared shortly)

Wednesday 7th December

  • 8:50am – Final Year 6 Whole School Assembly in the Hall
  • 9:45am – Year 6 Students vs Teacher Handball Game on the Oval

Friday 9th December

  • 9:00am – Whole School Thanksgiving/ Graduation Mass and Awards Ceremony at St Dominic’s Church
  • 10:40am – Student Guard of Honour Procession and Final Farewell on the Oval
  • 11:00am – Graduation Morning Tea in the Hall (see message below for further details)
  • 11:30am – Students return to class with Mr Bovell or head off with families to Bounce (see message below for further details)

Below is a message from Anthea, Justine and Tania, containing further details regarding optional parent-led events organised for our graduates.  Questions regarding the below aspects of the student’s final day should be directed to them.

2022 Parent-led Graduation Activities

 

Graduation is fast approaching for our 2022 leavers, please see information below regarding the parent-led activities planned for this special milestone.

Friday 9th December

  • 11.00am – Graduation Morning Tea
    • Each family is kindly asked to provide a plate to share on the day, boys bring a savoury dish and girls to bring a sweet dish (no cupcakes please as each Graduate will be provided with a special cupcake at the morning tea)
    • Please ensure you provide the serving plate and cut / prepare portion sizes
    • Dishes to be dropped off at the hall prior to the commencement of mass, school staff will heat if required and place items on the tables ready for the morning tea
  • 12.45pm – Bounce in Joondalup
    • Students are dismissed and leave from school with a caregiver, making their own way to the venue
    • All students will need to be signed out by a parent or guardian via Mr Bovell before leaving the school grounds
    • Please email Mr Bovell prior to the day if someone other than yourselves will be signing your child out
    • The children will spend the afternoon at Bounce from 12.45 – 3.15pm see the following link for directions and information about the venue https://www.bounceinc.com.au/
    • The cost includes entry to the venue and a 2.5 hour hosted session
    • Please ensure you arrive at the venue promptly for 12:45pm
    • Food and beverages are available for purchase at your own cost
    • It is recommended your child brings a water bottle
    • Please note that the teachers will not be attending therefore each student is the parent or caregiver’s responsibility
    • Please complete the online form linked below ASAP so we may confirm total numbers with the venue

Saturday, 10th December

  • 5:00pm – Celebratory Dinner at Tassels Bar and Bistro, (8 Tassels Place, Innaloo)
    • Please ensure you arrive at the venue promptly for 5:00pm
    • Parents and graduating students are all invited ( i.e. 3 people per family)
    • Cost per head is $30 pp

Please RSVP, via the online form below, indicating which event(s) your child will be attending.

Prior to sending your RSVP please transfer the corresponding money to the account listed below ($24 per student for Bounce and incidental graduation event costs/ and $30 per person attending the dinner) and include your child’s full name (first name & surname as the reference) indicating if the payment is for Bounce or for Tassels Dinner.  You can pay for both events in the one transaction or separately if you wish.  All RSVP’s and money transfers are required by Monday, 28th November as per the details below.
