Year 6 Interschool Chess Tournament Wrap up

On Wednesday, a very talented group of Year 6 students took part in the inaugural Chess Tournament, which was held at Loreto Primary School, Nedlands.

Participating in the tournament were:

Caiden
James
Andrew
Owen
Martin
Hudson
Mason
Tom F

A big congratulations to Andrew who was the highest points scorer out of the St Dominic’s team.

In a press conference after the tournament, Coach Paljetak discussed the following with reporters:

“The boys gave 110% today.  Super happy with the performance, however, with a stronger Chess pre-season, the boys will come back bigger and better next year.”

In a stunning development post tournament, it was announced that Coach Paljetak is facing the sack for fraudulently claiming he knew the rules and how to play Chess, and therefore the search for a new Chess coach will commence. If there are any parents who are Chess experts within our school community, please come see me as I would love to be able to give our students the opportunity to practice through a before or after school Chess club.

As always, super proud of the way our students represented St Dominic’s. All the boys involved managed to notch up quite a few wins on the day as well.

Please find some photos of our students in action.
