Year 6 Student Leadership Team Update (Out of School Achievement Awards/ Icy-Poles for Project Compassion)

This year, we will be putting together regular posts to share with the community some of what we are up to as the 2021 student leadership team.  We have lots of fun things planned and are really looking forward to the year ahead.

Below are details about Out of School Achievement Awards and icy-poles for Project Compassion on Friday.

Out of School Achievement Awards

As part of our role this year, we are in charge of looking out for and awarding Out of School Achievement Awards, so please let us know if you are aware of any extraordinary out of school achievements by our students.

At the past two Monday Morning Online Year 6 Leadership Assemblies, we have handed out four awards.  The details of these four awards are below.  Congratulations to all of our award winners for their outstanding achievements.

Act of Kindness Award

Ella (Year 2) – For swimming 15km together with her mum Pia throughout the month of February, raising $505 for the Starlight Super Swim cause, which helps sick kids in our community.  An amazing achievement, Ella, keep up all your kind work.

Sporting Achievement Awards

Martin (Year 6) – For winning a gold medal at his most recent Jiu Jitsu under 12’s competition.  A terrific effort, Martin, well done!

Owen (Year 6) – For becoming the third fasted in the state for 200m breaststroke, with a time of 3 minutes 48.  Congratulations Owen on this amazing achievement!

Tom (Year 6) – for winning his recent soccer grand final 3-1, with his Wembley Downs Football Club. He played most of the game as keeper and saved the majority of the opposition’s shots on goals. Congratulations, Tom, on such a great achievement.

Icy-Poles for Project Compassion

To help raise funds for Project Compassion, we will be selling icy-poles from the Canteen this coming Friday from 12:50pm through to 1:10pm.  Icy-poles will sell for 50c each, with all funds raised going directly into the project compassion boxes.
