After twelve months of leave, we farewell Sue Cappriotti at the end of the school year.  After traveling with her husband and spending time with her grandchildren, she recently made the decision to explore alternative, more part-time roles, within Catholic Education.  We wish her all the very best and thank her for the many years of dedicated service to our students and their families.

After several years of working at St Dominic’s, Jacky very recently applied for and successfully gained employment at Mercy College.  This is a wonderful appointment for Jacky, as after working in single stream primary schools for most of her career, this will be a great opportunity for her to broaden her teaching experience.  Jacky has made a significant difference in the lives of so many of her students over the years and we wish her all the very best as she embarks on this exciting opportunity.

Amy Dawson will be leaving us to take on a new role at Newman College in 2023.  We thank Amy for the work she has done this year, setting up the new Pre-Primary classroom and settling the children into the space throughout the year.  We wish her all the very best with the new role.

Following the arrival of Louise Smith’s second child earlier this year, she will be continuing Maternity Leave throughout 2023.

The process of appointing a new Admin Officer was recently completed and I am pleased to announce that Rachel Di Girolami has been appointed to this role.  Rachel joins our school after many years working at Our Lady of Good Counsel, in various roles including Education Assistant, Administration Officer and Marketing Manager.  I look forward to welcoming Rachel to our school and having the opportunity to introduce her to the school community.

We welcome John McCabe to our staff in 2023.  John has been recently appointed to the Year 2/3 teaching position, a role that he is very excited about taking on, having taught a variety of split year levels in the past.  I look forward to introducing you to John next year and welcoming him to the St Dominic’s School community.

Dario Jiritano has been appointed as our new Music specialist.  Dario joins our team after working across several Catholic schools as a music teacher.  We look forward to Dario joining us and leading the music program at St Dominic’s next year.

The remaining positions still outstanding will be appointed in the coming weeks and announced to the community in due course.
