Robotics Club Sharing Morning – Monday, 2nd December

The year is drawing to a close and the Robotics Club will soon be wrapping up for 2019.

Next week on Monday morning the students would like to invite you to come to Robotics so they can share with you some of the skills they have learned this year.

The plan is to have a ‘challenge’ which the students will try to solve, allowing them to demonstrate what they have learned about using sensors and programming the EV3 robots. During this time, I would encourage you to stay with your children and allow them to share their knowledge with you.

The Robotics Club sessions are student focussed; the students have been given opportunities to learn how to code and use a variety of sensors, moving at their own pace depending on their own interests and self-motivation. They have had the opportunity to develop a range of skills, including resilience, problem solving and persistence. Please be aware that students will be at different stages of skill and knowledge acquisition.

Following this, we will share in a light breakfast before starting the big job of returning all robotics equipment to the right place in the kits.

You are invited to come along with your child this coming Monday, 2 December at 7.30 to the school hall with a small plate to share, for example, pastries, muffins, fruit juice or fresh fruit. Tea and coffee will be provided. We would also like anyone available to stay after the breakfast has wrapped up to continue with the sorting of the boxes.

If we are not able to complete the kit sorting, Robotics Club will run on Monday of Week 9 so the students can finish the task.

Thanks for your support this year and I look forward to seeing you next week.
