As was communicated previously, the students listed in the links below have been selected to represent St Dominic’s (swimming in one or more races) at the Interschool Swimming Carnival, to be held on Monday, 8th of April 2019 at HBF Stadium, Stephenson Ave, Mount Claremont. Any students in Year 5 or 6 not swimming, will still be attending the carnival to assist staff with allocated jobs.
There will be one final training session this Thursday, 4th of April at HBF stadium, from 7.00am – 8.00am. All interested students from Year 3 – 6 are welcome to attend.
Students competing at the Interschool carnival, must wear St Dominic’s School bathers. Any last minute purchases can be made via the uniform shop on Wednesday morning. A swim cap will be provided to them on the day if they haven’t purchased one of the new school caps. A bus will transport the team to HBF stadium and will leave school at 8.15am, to allow time for a warm-up in the competition pool before the carnival commences. Students can wear their sports uniform (grey and white top) over their bathers, and should pack goggles, towel, water bottle and lunch box. The cafe at HBF stadium is out of bounds to all students on that day and therefore there will be no opportunity for students to buy food at the carnival. Please ensure your child has enough healthy food to get them through a busy day of swimming. We ask that parents do not bring food over from the cafe during the day, you may wish to save this as a treat for after the carnival.
As a thank you for all the children’s hard work, Mr Bolding will hold a ‘Swimming Squad Breakfast’ on Thursday, 11th April. Any students who have attended training, whether they compete at the carnival or not, are invited to attend the breakfast.
A paper permission slip, which can also be downloaded via the link below, will come home with your child today in their school bag. Please return the form no later than Friday, 5th April.
