Year 4 Excursion to Fremantle – Monday, 18th September (Week 10)

We are pleased to provide you with the following details regarding the Year 4 excursion to Fremantle on Monday, 18th September (Week 10).

This excursion has been planned to support the Year 4 History curriculum for this term where we have been exploring the life of convicts and first settlers in and around Australia. As well as HASS we will also be supporting the Art Curriculum for next term.  Students will be taking photographs of the original architecture of Fremantle and when returning to school using these images for a number of projects.

The class will be travelling by bus and will depart from St Dominic’s at 9.15am sharp and return at 2:45pm.

Activities to be undertaken include:

  • Fremantle Prison Convict Tour
  • Walk through Fremantle to take photographs of the original buildings
  • Fish and Chip Lunch at Cicerello’s
  • Free play at the Esplanade Park

Special clothing or other requirements include:

  • Please dress your child in the school sport uniform (grey polo shirt) as we will be walking from the Prison to lunch and then playing on a playground!
  • School hat
  • Small backpack that fits water bottle and recess.

Students will need to bring their recess and a bottle of water.  There will be an opportunity to have morning tea after the Prison tour.

If, for whatever reason, you need to contact your child during the excursion, please call the school office who will then contact one of the supervising staff members.

If you have any questions or feel that the proposed excursion may raise issues relevant to your child’s safe and full participation, please contact us to discuss these further.

I will be seeking parent volunteers for the excursion.  If you are able to assist, please complete the Microsoft form link below and I contact you prior to the excursion.
