Year 5 Excursion to the Fremantle Shipwreck Museum and Fremantle Prison

On Monday, 24th August, the Year 5 class will be going on an excursion to the Fremantle Shipwreck Museum and Fremantle Prison. The students will enjoy a self-guided tour of the Fremantle Shipwreck Museum and enjoying a guided ‘Modern and Convict’ tour at the prison.

We will be picked up by a bus at 0850am from St Dominic’s School and return to school by 245pm.

This excursion ties in with the Year 5 HASS (History) curriculum, which focusses on colonial Australian history.

Children will be required to wear the school sports uniform, with their grey polo shirts on this day, including a school hat. They should come to school with their normal school bags and lunch. Sunscreen is encouraged and will be provided on the day.

Parent helpers are welcome and invited to come along to assist in the supervision of the children. Whilst the Fremantle Shipwreck Museum will not be charging parents, the prison has stated that only one parent will be free and any more will need to pay $19.00 each. We have been asked to have 2 other parent volunteers for our class for the tours. If you would like to join us for this excursion please complete the online parent helper form linked below.
