UPDATED – Year 6 Excursion Will Now be to Cicerello’s and the Fremantle Prison

On Monday, 24th August, the Year 6 class was booked in to visit the Fremantle Literacy Centre and the Fremantle Prison. Unfortunately, due to a recent retirement of a staff member at the Literacy Centre, this part of the day has been cancelled. Instead, I have rebooked the class on a visit to Cicerello’s. There, we will enjoy the touch pool as well as a beach combing activity before enjoying lunch (provided) on the wharf.

After this, the day will run as originally planned.

We will be picked up by a bus at 8:50am from St Dominic’s School and return by 2:45pm.

Children will be required to wear the school sports uniform, with their grey polo shirts on this day (Leavers shirts welcome), including a school hat.  They should come to school with their normal school bags and lunch.  Sunscreen is encouraged and will be provided on the day.

Parent helpers are welcome and invited to come along to assist in the supervision of the children.  Whilst Cicerell’s will not be charging parents, the prison has stated that only one parent will be free and any more will need to pay $19.00 each.  If you would like to volunteer to be a parent helper, please complete the online form below.

A general outline for the day looks as follows:

  • 0850: Bus pickup from St Dominic’s School along with the Year 5 class
  • 1000: Commence Cicerello’s tour – The Year 5 class will be continuing on to the WA Shipwrecks Museum
  • 1100: Complete Cicerello’s tour and enjoy lunch on the wharf (provided)
  • 1200:  Walk to The Esplanade and have a play – Rejoin the Year 5’s
  • 1300: Walk to the prison and commence tour
  • 1400: Wrap up and prepare for pickup
  • 1415: Bus pickup from the Fremantle Prison

If you would like any more details about the excursion, please do not hesitate to ask me via email or in person.
