Year 6 Excursion to Fremantle

On Tuesday, 30th March, the Year 6 class will be going on an excursion to Fremantle to take part in both a visit to Cicerello’s (lunch included) and a visit to the Maritime Museum. We will be using public trains to travel to and from Fremantle.

Details:

  • 0840 – Mr Bovell, parent helpers and students will walk to Stirling Train Station and will be met by a Transperth officer.
  • 0905 – Travel by train from Stirling Train Station to Fremantle Train Station. We will then walk to Cicerello’s in Fremantle,
  • 1020 to 1145 – Cicerello’s will provide for us a fun, safe, educational and interactive aquarium tour. This will be followed by lunch at Cicerello’s (children will be able to pre-choose their order in the days preceding the excursion).
  • 1130 – Walk to the WA Maritime museum.
  • 1200 to 1330 – Students will immerse themselves in a 90-minute package entitled “Immigration Stories”.
  • 1330 – Walk to Fremantle Train Station.
  • 1345 – Travel by train from Fremantle Train Station to Stirling Train Station.
  • 1443 – Arrive at Stirling Train Station.
  • 1445 to 1500 – Students are to be picked up by their parents from Stirling Train Station “drop off and pick up” section.

This excursion ties in with the Year 6 HASS curriculum, particularly the following two areas:

  • Why people migrated to Australia and what were their stories and challenges? (ACHASSK136)
  • How did these people contribute to Australian society? (ACHASSK137)

Children will be required to wear their school sports uniform, with one of their grey polo tops on this day, including a school hat. They are also required to bring their recess and a water bottle, in their normal school or duffle bag.
